first shooting

First Shoot Review

Feedback from our first shoot:

This is a print screen from one of the shots we done yesterday. On the flip camera the shots looked fine and a bit dark which is what we wanted. As well , we believed that we could brighten it up once edited. When uploaded and watched back the clip , they was even more darker and as you can see its complete darkness and found out that you cant add brightness into the shot once edited as it would stand out when watched back and for the audience will notice it and feel it doesn't suit and looks weird.
From our first shoot , we feel although the clips never worked as we wished. We have learnt that we need as much light as possible and when uploaded to quick time , it will come out or darker and its easier to edit to make it darker  than bring the brightness up. We also going to bring lights/torches to bring light for the shots and try and reflect it of walls and ect when we next film. Although , only one clip worked , we feel we have learnt something new for the future which we will be sure not to make the same mistake again.

Tour of the Set/Apartment

This is video showing the apartment/set we are working on to film our title sequence. I take you through each room giving you a in sight tour of the place.

typography

typography

Typography is very important when it comes to title sequences. the typography is mainly used to give away the genre of the film, for example if the words are distorted then the genre is likely to be thriller as it is like a puzzle. In some cases the typography can tell you what the film is, for example Harry Potter's type of writing is very popular and is known world wide. the typography also involves the order in which the world are presented. the order of the credits are normally production company, film title, actors names, Producer, writer and director, with other less important role imbertween. the colour of the typography can also tell us a lot about the film, for example if the colour was red i would think the film would be a horror or romance, along with the way it looks you can tell either it is horror or romance.  overall typography is very important to the title sequence.

the typography of Catch me if you can is very simple in a way as there is no special font to it. however the lines used that are connected to the letters makes the clip more flowing and to show they are all connected with each other. the lines look they are almost following the person, which links to the film as he does have somebody following him.

the lines that are connected to the letters are also are used to create objects. for example in the title sequence the lines are used to create ladders, book shelfs and a rope.

The order in which the actors are presented shows leonardo di caprio first mainly because he is the main character and possible because he is the star of the movie. Tom hanks is the other big star in this film.
